Abu Dhabi, UAE, October 10, 2021: In recognition of the importance of World Mental Health Day, Umm Al Emarat Park is launching a free wellness program in collaboration with Inner Space Centre, Seven Wellness and Flo Studio. The aim is to raise awareness on the importance of investing in one’s health and wellness, encourage the community to seek out solutions, and help them connect with themselves, with nature, and with each other.

Every Wednesday at 6:30PM starting from 14 October 2021 until April 2022, the Park’s partners will collectively provide free meditation or yoga sessions to help the community slowdown from the fact-paced city life, find inner-resilience and achieve full self-awareness.

Rasha Kablawi, Head of Umm Al Emarat Park’s Corporate Affairs and Communication Department said: “Urban parks have an important role in community building and providing resident with a shared space, a sense of place, and an opportunity to unplug, turn inward, and connect. This World Mental Health Day, it is important to shed light on the stress, anxiety and mental unrest that could be common amongst many of us, especially given the unprecedented times we’ve had to face.”

Kablawi continued: “As the capital’s favorite green destination, we know how connected our guests and communities are to nature and the outdoors. We have always promoted the importance of nature and its intrinsic value on mental health and physical wellbeing. We are very happy to launch this program in collaboration with our partners who are all specialists in their respective fields. We encourage community members to participate in this program for its importance on the mental health wellbeing.”

Flo Studio sessions will allow participants to unite the body and mind through breathing, develop awareness and mindfulness through movement and stillness, and to explore and appreciate the potential of one’s physical, mental and spiritual being.
