Umm Al Emarat Park launches ‘Grow at Home’ campaign

To motivate residents to stay home and stay safe.

As part of our public duty and collective responsibility in the fight against COVID-19, a majority of residents across the United Arab Emirates have been in self-quarantine for weeks now. To encourage residents to stay home, and help them stay connected with the Park, with nature, and with each other, Umm Al Emarat Park kick-started its #GrowAtHome campaign to promote health, wellness, and growth at home while delivering the park experience to residents across the country.
Through the #GrowAtHome campaign, residents in the UAE will have the opportunity to join in online sessions on the Park’s social channels, with activities ranging from cooking, planting, exercising and meditating. The campaign aims to bring the vibrant community and wellness activities and explorative learning through play initiatives that the Park is known for, to homes across the UAE, with the important message of staying home to stay safe.
Rasha Kablawi, Head of Umm Al Emarat Park’s Corporate Affairs and Communication Department said: “Umm Al Emarat Park has a role to play in supporting and promoting the UAE government’s efforts to protect the health and wellbeing of our residents and community.
As the capital’s favorite green destination, we know how connected our guests and communities are to the nature and outdoors. We have always promoted the importance of nature and its intrinsic value to all humans, especially the impact on mental health and physical wellbeing. Since we are unable to welcome our guests to the park for the time being, we wanted to deliver different elements of the Park’s experience and nature to homes across the UAE.”
Umm Al Emarat Park’s social media channels will host many activities for individuals to grow at home, such as a gardening 101 series, where followers will learn how to grow plants and produce their own from home, as well as the cooking series, courtesy of the Park’s restaurants. Additionally, for those looking to get moving, the Park’s fitness instructors, in addition to designated UAE-based trainers, will be posting weekly workouts, while those looking for a more mindful exercise can also join the Park’s yoga sessions provided by Seven Wellness.
Kablawi added: “Our temporary new normal, quarantining at home, can also be an opportunity for transformation, innovation, and growth. We encourage our community, our visitors, and residents to share videos and images of the activities they are engaging in at home, under the hashtag #GrowAtHome. People can follow our official social media channels for more information on the schedule and timings of these online sessions.”
The Park encourages individuals to stay at home as a public duty and collective responsibility in the fight against COVID-19, and has taken all the precautionary measures to safeguard the health of its visitors, employees, and the community at large by closing its doors since March 22, 2020 and until further notice. The Park looks forward to welcoming back the larger community, upon government directives.
